My Binary Code

Why Do Computers Use Binary?

3. Computers use Binary because numbers and words can be stored infinitely with just two symbols. Each number could represent the a letter and words can be spelled. They also use binary because they only have two circuits.

2. I did not really understand what the two circuits are and why is binary faster.

1. I would like to know why there are only two symbols not more and what made 1 and o good symbols.

1. The highest level I got to is 5.
2. The hardest part is finding the big numbers.

ELIZA A.I.

1. I did not find ELIZA to be human-like.
2. I would add more responses.
3. Computers do not have emotions, you can program them to say words and respond to certain questions or statements.
4. In the future computers will be more advance and can possibly substitute for jobs that a human would do normally such as putting money in a cash register or putting groceries in a bag.

Cultural background

Bead looms are known for beauty and a source of math. The key concept is symmetry. Four Fold symmetry is used for this. They are the exact same image sometimes with a different color. Reflection symmetry is the same image on both sides no matter how you look at it. Base four counting is using a coordinate grid with x ad y axis. In the third example it is used for healing ceremonies. It is shown as a coat and used as an article of clothing. Four fold symmetry is used in the bead loom form. Bead work was made before European contact. Two examples of how these designs were used were a boat and a belt.

Communication

I  mostly communicate through text. In the majority of sending data it was text. Texting wasn't the only thing but by far it was the majority of how i use my phone.

Scavenger Hunt Reflection

My area of strength for this search was using Google and navigating to the right website. Two areas I can improve is finding the right part of the website and using Edline.

Computer Buying Project Reflection

Two things that i learned from this is that most people in the class prefer Macs to Pcs and that Solid State Drives have much smaller storage than a normal Hard drive but can be up to three times faster. One thing that was a challenge was trying to find a windows computer to verse the Mac and still be around the same price range and have somewhat similar parts.

Reflection

Overall I am liking working with my two other partners. We have got a fair amount of progress done with the two days we were allowed to work. It is fairly easy because we can split the project up in thirds.

Hi i'm Zach. I am a 14 year old attending freshman year at Reading Memorial High school in Reading, Massachusetts. I was born in Winchester, Massachusetts. I have played lacrosse for 5 years and recently stopped last year to take a break. I would normally play right attack. Currently i play nothing but next year i might play Junior Varsity. So far I am liking th Computer applications class.
